Authors Guidelines
1. Manuscript Preparation
- Language:
All manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English. Authors who are not native English speakers are strongly encouraged to seek professional language editing or proofreading services to enhance clarity and readability. - Formatting:
- Use a 12-point Times New Roman font for the entire manuscript.
- Text should be double-spaced with 1-inch margins on all sides.
- Save the manuscript in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). PDFs or other formats will not be accepted.
- Include page numbers and line numbers to facilitate the review process.
- Structure:
- Title Page: This should include the manuscript’s title, all authors’ full names, institutional affiliations, and the contact information of the corresponding author.
- Abstract: Provide a concise summary of the manuscript, highlighting the key points such as objectives, methods, results, and conclusions (150–250 words).
- Keywords: Provide 4–6 relevant keywords that capture the essence of your work.
- Main Text: Organize your manuscript into standard sections, such as:
- Introduction: Describe the background, research problem, and objectives.
- Methods: Detail the methodology used, including any experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
- Results: Present findings clearly, using tables and figures where applicable.
- Discussion: Interpret the results in the context of existing research and highlight the significance.
- Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and potential future directions.
- References: Include a comprehensive list of references formatted according to the journal’s required citation style (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago).
2. Submission Process
- Online Submission:
Manuscripts should be submitted via email address (Editor@ijsr.org.ng). Ensure that all required fields are filled in accurately. - Cover Letter:
Include a cover letter that introduces the manuscript, outlines its originality, and explains why it is a suitable fit for the journal. The letter should also confirm that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere or is under consideration by another journal. - File Uploads:
Alongside the manuscript, authors may be required to upload supplementary materials such as high-resolution images, appendices, or raw data (if applicable). - Author Approval:
Ensure that all listed authors have approved the manuscript’s submission and are aware of its content and scope.
3. Ethical Considerations
- Originality and Plagiarism:
Submissions must be original works of the authors. Plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification are serious offenses and will lead to immediate rejection. Authors are encouraged to use plagiarism detection tools like Turnitin or iThenticate before submission. - Authorship:
Authorship should accurately reflect those who contributed significantly to the research. Avoid ghostwriting (when uncredited writers produce content) and honorary authorship (when someone is listed without significant contribution). - Conflict of Interest:
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, such as financial or personal relationships that could influence their research or its interpretation. - Ethical Approvals:
For studies involving human participants or animals, ethical approval from a recognized institutional ethics committee must be obtained and documented. This should be explicitly stated in the manuscript.
